A housing association tenant from Salford has been honoured with a Neighbourhood Star Award from her landlord Guinness Northern Counties at a ceremony held at the Leeds Hilton Hotel.

June Williams has been a tenant of Guinness Northern Counties for 16 years and is an active member of the Customer Panel and the Asset Management sub-group, both of which enable the association to work more closely with its residents in matters that affect them.

Part of her role is to take part in estate walkabouts identifying problem areas and talking to tenants about any issues they have and helping them to resolve them.

June is currently in the process of becoming an Estates Champion, to expand on her existing role and provide consultation on policies and procedures.

June was presented with her award by Peter Munday, Vice Chair of Guinness Northern Counties at an awards ceremony for customers of the association, which owns and manages over 26,000 homes across the North of England.

On receiving her award, June said “It’s nice to have your efforts recognised and I’m thrilled to receive this award.”
