Kevin Lawton the Estate Assistant at Poplar Court and Pitt Street in Audenshaw, has been awarded the Estate Services Merit Award by Guinness Northern Counties, for the work he does to keep his estate in tip top condition.
The annual competition run by Guinness Northern Counties’ West Regional Committee gives residents the chance to publicly recognise and thank their own Estate Assistant, Cleaner, Maintenance Technician or Property Care Team for the work they do on their estates.
Speaking at the presentation, long standing Poplar Court resident Ken Anstee said: “Kevin is the best Estate Assistant we’ve ever had. We are so lucky to have him working for us.”
Kevin won first prize and was presented with a trophy and a certificate by Adele Taylor and Colin Bayley. They are involved residents, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the West Customer Panel and were also members of the judging panel.
Kevin said afterwards: “It’s really good to know that the residents appreciate the work I do for them, but all I have been doing is treating the schemes as my home, not just my place of work. I would like to thank them all for nominating me for the award. In my eyes they are the best as well.’
This year 11 Estate Staff were nominated for the award with 142 residents voting for them. The runner up was Charlie Foley an Estate Assistant from Crumpsall, with joint third prize going to Steve Todd from Stockport and Jeff Riley from Salford.
