A 69 year old housing association tenant from Morecambe has been honoured with a ‘Senior Star’ Award from her landlord Guinness Northern Counties at a ceremony held at the Leeds Hilton Hotel.

Mrs Pat Senior has been a resident at Hillcrest Court, Morecambe for nine years and is the ‘eyes and ears of the scheme’ for over 55’s.

Acting as a medium between residents and the local Guinness Northern Counties’ team, Pat is actively involved in meetings where she brings her own concerns and those of other residents to the table to be discussed and resolved.

Pat was presented with her award by Clare King, Head of Operations for Guinness Northern Counties’ North Region at the awards ceremony for customers of housing provider which owns and manages over 26,000 homes across the North of England.

Ms King commented: “Since moving in, Pat has always been interested in the smooth running of the scheme. She works tirelessly with both staff and the police to maintain the security of the properties and we want her to know how much that work is appreciated by ourselves and the other residents.”

On receiving her award, Pat said: “It is all a bit of a haze but it is nice to know that you are appreciated.”
