A community netball club in Gorton is celebrating today after receiving sponsorship to the tune of £600 to provide branded sweaters for the junior team from local repairs and maintenance specialists City Response Limited.
Established in 2003, Manchester-based Dominoes Netball Club is the only club in Manchester to play at National level. The club comprises three teams of different age groups, ranging from six to adult. Matches for each team take place every Sunday, and practice sessions are held during the week.
Emma Lees, Marketing Assistant at City Response Limited, attended the junior team’s weekly training session last week at Wright Robinson Sports College in Gorton, to present the under 16’s with their sweaters.
Speaking at the presentation, Emma said: “We are really pleased to be able to sponsor Dominoes and hope the club goes from strength to strength. City Response Limited is very active in the West Gorton area and we want to make sure that the young people in Manchester know there are opportunities available to them. We run a very successful apprenticeship programme and want to make sure that young women are aware of these and that they are just as suitable and beneficial to them.”
Sarah Collins, the junior team captain said: “We are delighted to have received sponsorship from City Response. We rely solely on grants and sponsorship and this couldn’t have come at a better time. The girls love their new sweatshirts and are proud to wear them.”
