City Response prepares to spread its wings in Yorkshire (06/12/11)

Staff and managers at property repairs and maintenance specialists City Response Ltd are celebrating after learning that the company has been appointed to the EN Procure Elemental Works Framework.

The announcement puts City Response in the running for contracts with social landlords and public bodies wishing to procure goods and services through the Framework, which has been set up by Efficiency North (EN), a consortium of 14 Yorkshire-based local authorities and housing providers.

City Response, which employs 283 staff at its bases in Oldham, Leeds and Chesterfield, has been appointed to two of the Framework’s three sub-regions, which between them offer access to an estimated £650m worth of business for Framework members.

The announcement follows a rigorous assessment process that looked at all aspects of City Response’s responsive repairs and maintenance service, from costs and capacity to customer satisfaction levels and environmental sustainability.

Billy Park, Managing Director of City Response said: “This is really excellent news and we are now focussed on maximising this business growth opportunity and offering clients in Yorkshire the same high quality repairs and maintenance service that we currently provide to around 30,000 housing association residents in other parts of the North. “

For clients, the Framework not only offers estimated efficiency savings of 10% against annual throughput but a contracted commitment from service providers such as ourselves to local training, apprenticeships and employment programmes, which is very much in tune with the way we already operate at City Response. “

Commenting on the Elemental Works Framework Contract award, Lee Parkinson, Director of Efficiency North said: “City Response Ltd, along with all of the contractors we have appointed to the Framework, demonstrated in their tender submission that the improved certainty of time, quality and cost that the Elemental Works Framework aims to establish will be delivered. We are very much looking forward to working with them.”
